THINGS IMPORTANT TO A BOY SERIES
Seemingly insignificant items, such as a screw or bolt, are important objects found and held in a tiny hand or a tiny pocket, not to be left behind or forgotten at any moment. As significant as a teddy bear, screws and bolts are given a name .“Dukes”, and take their place in the hierarchy of a child’s world.
These items are illustrated in the grid of graphite drawings titled “Things important to a boy”.

COLLAGE ON WOOD PANEL
This body of work is a collection of urban landscapes and city parks that capture moments of daily life living in the city. Mid-century modern high-rises with rooftop gardens and swimming pools, lush trees, rain clouds and mountains next to historic brick buildings are minimally rendered using simple shapes using cut paper, burlap, foam, film and wood. The colors and forms inspired by the Bauhaus and Modern art movement.
The Urban Park Series focuses on my Capitol Hill neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. Cheeseman Park, City Park, Lodo parks and the Botanical Gardens serve as inspiration. The National Park Series are interpretations of the High Desert in West Texas, mountains, rocks, caves, plateaus, sand, wind, rain, stars, wide open plains and desert plants.
