URBAN PARK SERIES - BLUE DAY - 16X16X1.5"

COLLAGE ON WOOD PANEL

This body of work is a collection of urban landscapes and city parks that capture moments of daily life living in the city. Mid-century modern high-rises with rooftop gardens and swimming pools, lush trees, rain clouds and mountains next to historic brick buildings are minimally rendered using simple shapes using cut paper, burlap, foam, film and wood. The colors and forms inspired by the Bauhaus and Modern art movement. The Urban Park Series focuses on my Capitol Hill neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. Cheeseman Park, City Park, Lodo parks and the Botanical Gardens serve as inspiration. West Texas and National Park Series are interpretations of the High Desert in West Texas. Mountains, rocks, caves, plateaus, sand, wind, rain, stars, wide open plains and desert plants serve as inspiration.
